Sub-juniors (Subbies)

Boys & Girls, 5-10 years old

Under 6’s – tag only. (players over 5 or turning 6 this year)

Under 8’s – modified tackle. (players turning 7 or 8 this year)

Under 10’s – tackle (players turning 9 or 10 this year)

Season duration: Our Season starts first week on Term 2 and runs through to mid-way Term 3. No rugby during the school holidays.

Training: usually Wednesday afternoons, 4-5pm at Glen Willow Sporting Complex. This will be confirmed once the coaches are finalised and may change.

Games: Friday night 5-7pm, depending on age group. There is a canteen available.

Under 6 &8’s play 5-6pm and Under 10’s 6-7pm. Under 10’s have warm up 30mins before start time.

Location: Rugby 1, Glen Willow Sporting Complex, Pitts Lane, Mudgee

Players receive club shorts and socks as part of the registration fee.

Gala Days: Gala days are held on Sundays by Clubs within the Central West. Each Club hosts a Gala Day and teams play 3 x 30min games, usually between 9-12pm. These days are option but provide an excellent opportunity for players to develop their skills against other clubs and are a social day. Players are asked to nominate each week by Wednesday if they are available to play.

What to bring: Mouthguards are compulsory. Football boots and a water bottle. Playing jerseys are provided each week. Ask your health fund as you may be able to get a custom mouthguard through your health insurance.

Volunteers: All our coaches and team managers are volunteers. All players will be rostered to assist with washing jumpers or helping on the canteen during the season. We are always looking for more people to help as many hand make like work, give our Coordinator a call.

Communication during the season: Once players are registered, we use TeamSnap for all communication and information for the season. This is a team/player management platform with both an app and website. Players can mark their availability, find draws and field locations each week. Both parents can access and input information.
