In an unprecedented move the European Rugby Union peak body has moved to a new ECO BALL for the 2020 season. The original proposal was designed to be as low impact on the environment as possible and revolved about the use of a live animal as the actual ball. The administrators struck problems then with animal activist groups who deemed this plan unfair to the animals that may have better things to do on a Saturday afternoon. As the start to the season draws near the administrators are pushing on with another proposal to use 3D printed animals however critics feel this has moved too far away from the original low impact objective.
